Throughout 10.000 years of the history of urbanization Turkiye has formed a bridge between East and West, North and South. It’s a stage of history where people of many different cultures have arrived and settled, where they have been absorbed by the people, who arrived before and have bequeathed unique syntheses of civilization to those who came later. Thirteen civilizations from human history have found a home in Anotolia, leaving behind as proof of their existence some 6000 monuments and ruins. Istanbul, a city located on two continents separated by the Bosphorus and surrounded on six sides by sea, a city that has been the capital of three of the greatest empires in the world in the space of 2500 years., is both a miracle of nature and a unique “cinematographic city” that offers an enchanting and exotic synthesis of East and West. Turkey’s mountains, mineral water springs, lakes, river, forests and features of climate and landscape, which vary from region to region, mean that a wide variety of shots can be filmed in the same country. For example, in the morning an actor or actress may be filmed water skiing in the blue water of Antalya and in the afternoon, skiing on the snowy slopes of a Saklikent mountain just a few miles away. In a word, the importance of Turkiye for film-makers is the wealth, variety and originality of its natural, historical and cultural values. .
